TJB Cafe

This is a lovely restaurant, which is located near <Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall> MRT station, blue painting wall that you can easily spot it just around the corner. Through the window, there are some adorable merchandises such as tower or mug, and those make here become a popular restaurant for tea time.

They not just have beautiful decoration but also yummy brunch, and they serve "huge" brunch!

Chicken taco salad
they made some change for this tradition Mexican food, fire wheat tortilla to make it crisp and as a folder for rich chicken salad, with red onion, lettuce, tomato, baby corn and tendency chicken breast.

TJB roasted turkey panini
well, this panini was nothing special, the toast was over baked, made it hard to have it a bite 'cause that stuffing just fell over the plate, but the chip tasted good though.

My favour, Omelet!!
Bacon & cheese makes life wonderful!!! (I probably shouldn't say that 'cause I'm vegetarian now…)

I missed the chance to take some photos while I cut that creamy omelet, I just can't wait to taste it, and eventually, I only left this wonderful moment when it was served.

The price range around NT$ 180 to NT$ 300 (with drinks or side dish), at average price level of cafe in Taipei, but it's always crowed and they don't take reservation!!! (You can only wait outside the restaurant...)
If you don't wanna waste time, suggest to avoid lunch or dinner rush hour!

iPhone App: Move

[iOS App: Move]

I've tested a new lunched app for recording moving distance and tracking work out status, named "MOVE" (category: Health & Fitness).

Download here: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/moves/id509204969?mt=8

It is using GPS on your iPhone, and all you need to do is click on this app before your going out, put iPhone on pocket, then leave it, check summary status while back home.
How this app can really adjust for different speed of walking or transportation, I wonder? But after a one day hanged out with friends (as you may know, girls get together, shopping, cross street to street, one department store to another, taking subway, etc.), this app showed its capability! It not only recorded each section of working distance, automatic pause, and adjust to transport mood when I was on subway.

Here are snapshot:
➺ Each section contain walking duration and map

Taipei ﹡Delicious ➺ Japanese pubs [台北 ﹡食記 吳留手居酒屋]

Late night, after work off, the one of the most enjoyable thing to relax is hanging out with colleagues or friends, especially here in Taipei. Traditionally, Taiwanese like to eat, exotic cuisine such like sushi or grill is far more welcome, and here is trick, look for those special stores on small street, this definitely pay off when yummy meal is served.

And this Japanese pub is one of the best,

What a shame that I didn't take too many pictures for our meal, those all were too delicious, and of course, we were hungry, so we ended up eating all dishes, and I only keep this grouped pic.

My Recipe: Chocolate cake

I love to cook and baking, and I've seen many people make yummy cake by her/his own, today, I want to try it, and it's so successful! (At least it tasted like heaven!)

Here is how!

Ingredients:
4 eggs
2/3 cup Anchor butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
150 g chocolate
100 g brown flour
100 g milk powder

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree
  2. Use regular spray and dust with flour
  3. Place 4 eggs, granulated sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer (or by hand work! ) on low speed until all ingredient are incorporated.
  4. Then increase mixer speed to medium and beat the mixture lightens and is smooth.

  5.  Double-boiling chocolate and batter until all melt
  6. Mix 2 ingredient to smooth (wet ingredient)
  7.  Mix dry ingredient (flour & milk powder) and pour into wet ingredient with slow speed mixing
  8.  Pour batter into Bundt pad then pour the mixture into it about 60% full (leave the space for rising)
  9.  Bake on middle rack for 20-30 mins or until the top of the cake are light golden brown

    Keep Move On

Inspired by sentence & motion, plus a lovely song!

Those sentence are quoted from Y2009, U.S. President election, one candidate, John Edwards quitted from pre-election. He might be criticized for some behavior, but those words I do love to keep in mind.

Do not turn away from these great struggles before us.
Do not give up on the causes that we have fought for.
Do not walk away from what's possible, because it's time for all of us,
all of us together, to make two America one.

As I search relevant website, and I find this beautiful site with a lovely song, and I wanna share it!

Damaged Plants Could Spew Range Of Emissions #WSJ

The technology can be good and bad, depends on how to use it, should we consider nature power for the future seriously!

    For all information from WSJ

A damaged nuclear power plant can release a range of radioactive materials: some relatively harmless, others more dangerous.

The process that splits uranium using high heat creates more than 100 new chemicals, said Joseph Mangano, executive director of nonprofit Radiation and Public Health Project, which researches the effects of radiation on public health.

In a total meltdown, several radioactive gases are released on the less-toxic end of the spectrum, including nitrogen-16, tritium and krypton. Each of these gases is light and tends to dissipate quickly, posing little danger to humans, said Kirby Kemper, a nuclear physicist at Florida State University.

Nitrogen-16 decays quickly and becomes stable oxygen. Krypton gas also is very light and would get released into the atmosphere and dissipate quickly.

Tritium gas is low-energy and has a half-life of 12 years. When it decays, it becomes a stable form of helium. Half-life is the time it takes one-half of the atoms of a radioactive material to disintegrate.

The most dangerous emissions in a meltdown enter the body through inhalation, ingestion or absorption through the skin. If the core of a nuclear reactor melts down completely, many of the extremely dangerous radioactive substances -- such as uranium and other heavy metals -- would drop to the bottom of the containment vessel and not be spewed into the air. They would have to be cleaned up by nuclear-hazard crews.

Far more worrying are several radioactive chemicals released as particles about one-quarter the size of a grain of sand. These include iodine-131, strontium-90 and cesium-137. Some of these chemicals are especially dangerous to humans because they mimic substances the body naturally uses, such as iodine, and are readily incorporated into the body's tissues.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, radioactive iodine can disperse rapidly in air and water under the right conditions. However, iodine-131 has a short half-life of eight days, which means it will decay away completely in the environment in a matter of months.

Radioactive iodine can enter the body by ingestion or inhalation. It can settle on grass where cows might eat it and pass it to humans through their milk. It may also settle on leafy vegetables or become concentrated in marine and freshwater fish, which people will then consume, the EPA says.

Strontium-90 has a half-life of 29.1 years. Because it behaves chemically like calcium, it tends to concentrate in the bones and teeth.

Strontium-90 mainly enters the body through food and water, and its ingestion has been linked to bone cancer, cancer of the soft tissue near the bone, and leukemia.

Cesium-137, with a half-life of 30 years, is another dangerous substance emitted in a full-scale nuclear meltdown. It may be ingested with food and water, or inhaled as dust. Exposure increases the risk of cancer.

Despite these dangers, the specter of a scenario as bad as Chernobyl is unlikely in Japan, Dr. Kemper said.

The nuclear core in many newer reactors, including the ones in Japan, is enclosed by a steel containment vessel.
